2001 shuddering/Sputterung
Got timming belt replaced, water pump, thermostat. This is probably unrelated, but a problem arose today.
Accelling from stop, or very slow speed car is shuddering. Engine seems to be running fine and sounds good. This shuddering increases when accelling from stop on a hill. When placed in drive or reverse a small thump comes from area of tranny.
This has a sealed tranny right?
Can I check the fluid myself?
Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, can't help you much other than advise to take it to a well respected independant shop and ask about the tranny. Maybe a drain and refill is all you need.
I've been getting a "shuddering" when cruising around 55, and I'm not sure if it is motor or tranny related. Hoping for a tuneup item to take care of it, rather than dealing with the tranny...
Good luck.

The transmission is not sealed but you need a couple of special tools to add fluid to it , if the fluid has not been changed you need to do a service on the trans and have the filter cut open and checked , they suck up broken transmission parts and get stuck in the filter ( lugs from the drums )
