New to the forum and a bit of a novice but I love my 2001 A4- original owner with 75K miles and hope to keep it for many more. Recently I've noticed the car is shuddering when I'm idling. The shuddering disappears when I place the car in neutral or at higher rpms. Any thoughts on the source of the problem? Will this be an expensive fix?

Manual or automatic? Is the "check engine light" on? Might just take it to Autozone and let them scan it for free. Might be a coil pack and they can detect that to rule it out. Then go from there.
