Talking Audi allroad 2001 Suspension types?

I have heard that there are 2 types of suspension on the allroad, from which the air suspension is the most costly when it come to changing and it has the most problems!

Is that true or not?

Thank you!

Unless someone has gone ahead and done a coil over swap, then it would be true that there are 2 types

Maybe they were talking about the actual pillows? Can they be on air or oil?

Anyways i have found a beautiful allroad and i am checking it out with a mechanic today. I am taking a specialist with me, cause i am a noob in this field!

Thank you guys for your prompt reply.

There are two different repair kits available, but they discontinued the first kit because it sucked. So you can only get the one kit, and there isn't any differences between years as far as the suspension goes.

Stock A6 allroad has air suspension, whereas the very nice new A4 allroad has coil suspension. My personal preference is air suspension for comfort and ride height on dirt roads, and even if it leaks with age, Arnott Industries will provide you with comparatively inexpensive bladder replacements, as I recently did, successfully.
