Default Clicking

I just bought a 2003 Allroad for my wife. I noticed after I actuate the turn signal the clicker switch eratically continues to click for a while. Could this be a defective clicker? If so, where is it located. It seems to be clicking behind the radio or center console.

Please help thanks!

I don't know if you got an answer to this yet.

The hazzard switch is prolly in need of replacement. It's located in the center of the dash (red triangle-hazzards). It is a very easy repair. carefully pop the wood grain that holds the switch in place. Pull the switch with even pressure and disconnect the quick connect (I think it's a 12 way connection).

Reconnect the wires to the new switch and slide it back into position. Replace the woodgrain. and your done. Total job time is about 7 minutes and the part is about $35. The dealer can do it for you also, it's an hour job plus parts, so you'll save about $100 by DIY.

Good luck

Hi, I just bought an 2002 Allroad and I'm having the same erratic "clicking" of the turn signal/hazards noise. I took it to the Audi dealership today and they also told me I needed to replace the hazard switch. I'd like to do it myself and save $100. Could you please explain in detail how to pop the wood grain piece around the hazard switch off? Is there a simple/secret way to do it without damaging it?
Thanks!

Not really a secret. You just have to carefully pry it out with a small screwdriver. I start at the bottom on the passenger side and pry between the dash and the trim. The key is to get the screw driver all the way behind the piece, its about 5-8mm thick. If you dont get the screwdriver all the way behind and pry on the side youll most likly chip part of the clear plastic coveing off.
