gas milage again
In varied driving, 35 miles each way to work, in an '02 2.7 6spd I get 22-24mpg average. I use only 93 octane even though I'm not chipped....

During the summer I was getting 24-26mpg in mixed driving in my 50k mile 2004 2.7T Tip Allroad. With a roof rack, often carrying a kayak. Now that it has gotten cold (and I added my ski carriers to the rack) I am getting 18-19 if I am lucky. Even on long highway trips. Bad head wind? Then I get 15 on the highway.
In my case, 300 miles on a tank is a dream during the winter.

Of course, a lot of us are depending on the car's computer to tell us what the mileage is. I don't DIStrust it, but it might be interesting to know how accurate it really is.
As for my mileage, it varies greatly depending on how many highway miles I put in on a tank of gas. Also, when I first got the car, I was obsessed with the 'current mileage' setting on the computer--light-footing it around town; lifting the throttle on small hills; breaking the speed limit on downhills. I gave up a little while ago, and am now breaking the speed limit at all times. The fun is worth the coupla MPGs I'm no longer saving.

On a recent road trip, I filled up the tank then reset the mileage and clocked just over 350 miles 95% of it was highway miles. I haven't been able to get an accurate read on city/suburb driving, but it's a lot lower. I think its just the heft of the car and 2.7 takes a lot of gas lugging it all around in stop and go conditions.
