Default Heater Core Replacement

I need to get the heater core replaced on my 2002 Allroad. I have one estimate of $1000. Any ideas where, in Seattle, I might get this done cheaper?

heater core replacement is a huge PITA

just to give you a rough idea, it goes something like this:

1. buy a new heater core
2. dismantle the interior of the car and remove it from the car
3. reassemble the interior of the car around the new heater core and reinstall

(not really but yeah, sort of)

the reason the cost is so high is due to the labor to literally remove the entire dash panel to get to the heater core.
