I hear you about repairs. I was stoked because I finally started putting some upgrades on the car and not just repairs. Just installed 4 Rigid Dually lights in the lower grill. I swear they're brighter than my xenons!
That's the answer I was looking for. Thanks

I've been enjoying the ALLROAD lately. Finally bonded with it by buying a ProClip iPhone holder:

and replacing the rear pads and discs.

The car does have the check engine light on so I pulled some codes:

It drives fine but does persistently miss at idle, seems thirsty and will stutter sometimes on acceleration, perhaps specifically when exiting corners. Still need to nail that one down.

Here's a display from a recent 200 mile round trip. Averaged 17mpg. Bit disappointing that. This week we are doing a 400 mile trip! Good job fuel is cheap right now.

Interestingly I don't appear to have a detectable boost signal.

Been enjoying the heated seats now the weather has turned cold. Drove the car to Dayton and back, 300 mile round trip, no problems. It didn't like the cold snap though. Presented me with a dead battery yesterday. The old one is of unknown age but looked quite newish. Still, I swapped in the one from the 911 which is the same size and weight: 50lbs! So far so good.

Today I took it to the dealer to pick up the spare valet key and have it programmed. $150 for a spare key! Just about double the value of the car? On the way home it threw this code.

- Faulty Ignition Coil
- Ignition Coil harness is open or shorted
- Ignition Coil circuit poor electrical connection

sounds fun.

The Allroad has proven it's worth in the snow and low temperatures we have been experiencing in SE Michigan lately. No real issues to report either. One thing is troubling me though: I need to top up the power steering fluid. It only needs a few ounces. Do I really have to invest in a whole liter of expensive Pentosin or is there a cheaper option out there?

The winter beater Allroad has been filling in as a summer beater despite still running on winter tires. However, a few days ago it cried "enough!" and started puking out coolant even though it was only slightly hotter than usual.

The reservoir cap seemed like a potential candidate but after borrowing one from our A3 it still puked out expensive G13.

The we noticed the filler neck wasn't exactly in top condition:

So we replaced the reservoir and cap:

FIXED! The easiest job we have ever done on an Audi. I assumed we'd have to take the engine out or the fuel tank or something but did it in the driveway with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. We then treated it to the summer tires off the A3.

It knows they are only on loan but if it likes them.............
