Default Is my trans done or just the torque converter?

Just went through all of the posts regarding this issue and ironically my symptoms are the REVERSE of the usual. My trans is slipping in the forward gears , but not as bad in reverse. Fluid was fine but a bit dirty. Car is a 2002 with 80,000 on it and now it looks like a big bill is on it's way. I have read I could try to do the fluid and filter and somewhat buy some time. Curious to know if I just have to do the converter or the whole trans? Also if someone could give me a part number for the converter with the upgraded seal? Love how this stuff happens 2 days before xmas.

MERRY XMAS ALL!
Thanks
