Default Question about items under rear of Alroad

I am installing a hitch on my 2004 Allroad. I have 2 questions about items under the car:

1. What is under the black, circular plastic cover under the car centered on the spare tire well. 2 pipes enter the area. Does this have anything to do with the fuel pump/system or anything else I can damage?

2. There looks to be a pre-installed trailer lighting socket in a cylindrical plastic box under the silver plastic panel on the lower bumper. Is this what it is?

Any insight would be helpful before I take things apart.

Are the two pipes or lines entering the different colors? I thinkthey might be theair lines for the air suspension system. My understanding is there's a modulator in there that regulates the air to the front and rear suspension.

Not sure about the lighting socket part

Both are heavy black plastic pipe about 1/2" in diameter. Not at all like what I would expect air hose to be unless the hoses are in the pipe.

The socket could definitly be a trailer socket. I know that a lot of post 2002 models came prewired for a trailer hitch.
