Default Tinting

Does tinting the windows mess with the defroster, or rain sensitive wipers?

Window tinting is done on side and rear windows only, never on the windshield. Spend the extra money and have it done by a professional. Check your laws and make sure that your installer complies, some local law enforcement agencies are fussy about it. Some film is metalic and shouldn't be used over the antanna imbeded in some windows, use non-metalic there. I had it done on my AR a few years ago and highly recommend having it done. We have a lot of glass and it makes a big difference in the summer in keeping cool.

Couldtinting create a problem with the heating elements in the rear and side defrost? Would the heat from the rear and side/rear defrost cause the tint to distort?

I had tint installed on my Allroad and on my prevous Volvo and neither one has had an issue to day with the defrosters not performing.

I've had no problems with defrosters on the tinting, but speak with your installer to make sure that the product is suitable. After the installation, you'll have small bubbles, but they will go away in a short time. Keep the window film clean, so it won't scratch when you open and close the windows.
