Hi,

I just received bad news about my '01 allroad w/87,000 miles. The turbos need to be replaced.

The issue started with a burning oil smell from the engine compartment, and in the cabin. I had it looked at by two Audi mechanics, I was hoping for a leaking oil return.

The diagnosis is that seals in one of the turbos have failed. When the oil return line is pulled off, about a cup of oil pours out.

Estimates for replacement are roughly $5,000. I'm not expecting to find a dramatically lower option, but I would like some advice from you guys on questions to ask, and possible referrals in the Boulder, CO area.
