2012 A3 TDI - What is this in info display
Hey All,
I have a 2012 A3 TDI with about 8500 miles on it.
I recently noticed that the information display now
contained this "gas pump handle" and a "crossed out zero" shown to the left of the 32.4 mpg in the attachment.
I dug through the owner manual but did not find any information. I dropped by the Audi dealer and the "TDI mechanic" states that it is just an information display to let you know you are getting excellent mileage.I was at 41mpg when at the dealer, but it is now 32.9 after running around the city.
The response doesn't sit right with me so thought I'd ask others what it is... or if there is a good website that shows or explains the various information displays.
thanks

the number beside the circle symbol is your average. the number below it (dashes since you were in park when you took the photo) is your current.
there is a way to toggle this display so it will indicate your mpg for the trip (since you turned the car on) or your mpg since you last reset the trip meter. on my car (2011 a3) this is indicated with either a 1 or 2 on the display.
