From Wikipedia:
Audi has stated the S3 will not be sold in North/South America. Reasons range from pricing and competition with the Volkswagen Golf R32 and/or stealing sales from the new Audi TT and due to cost effectiveness in the North American market. Audi has announced a 2.0T Quattro model for the North/South American market due out in 2009/2010 to coincide with the A3 body upgrade.
No sources are cited. Not sure if they mean the next-gen S3 will come out here, or if they are just referring to the next-gen A3. It is in the last paragraph. URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_S3

I would imagine that my coilovers, rear sway bar, and R compound tires would handle very well compared to the Quattro A3. I ran twisties yesterday with other S4's and my car hung in just fine. Just my $.02. But, that's a chunk of change in suspension parts to bring it up to stock Quattro ability.

Cheers!
He had coils as well. R compound tires will definitely help, but my tires were 3/32 anyways. So didn't really give me any advantage. With your mods, it might be up to stock Quattro as you said, but what makes you think I'm stock quattro?

Bring your car up here already Chef!

Not quite sure where, "up here" is, but I'm sure that the coast in SoCal is better. I took a chipped B5 S4 at the GTG yesterday, and he was quite shocked, as was I. I know that my car was handling better than Doug's car, B5 S4,around the turns, but he has crappy tires at the moment. I also KNOW that you don't have your haladex yet, so I'm not sure what your begging at? LOL I think you may have a nice machine, but I'm sure that I could take you. Come down here and we can work it all out.

Cheers!

Up here would be Toronto lol. And no, I'm not driving to SoCal.

Driving on "curvy" roads and on a track is quite different. And of course, the driver has a lot to do with it too. Not sure what you meant by "begging". Or did you mean bragging? The Haldex unit it's ordered already, just a matter of time. It'll be on by the time you get your car here. And just put on some PS2 last Friday.

You are sure you could take me, and I'm sure I can take you on the track. (not drag strip of course)

Started on a straight-away through first two gears, then two back to back turns and ended at about 110 mph. I had him the entire way, gaining distance the entire time. Many AF witnesses to the race.

Cheers!

With all respect, you do look good in the race helmet, but I'm no slouch on the track. I think that my car could hang 90%+ through the tight turns with you, 100% on the slalom, and 120% on the straight-aways. That's my rough calculation. LOL I am very sure that I'd hand you your lunch in a race, on and off the track.

How's that for confidence???

Cheers!

I'm manual, but I don't know about his car. I'll ask him.

Honestly, I was quite shocked that my car did so well. I was running race gas and the higher program, but I thought we'd be fighting neck and neck. He did swear that he had it fully punched the entire way.

Cheers!
