A3 Extended warranty
I just bought a 2009 A3 with 13,000 miles. I passed on the certification extended warranty but the dealership is offering it to me for $800 (for an added 2 years and xx miles). Sounds like a pretty good deal. What do you guys think of this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hmmm. So your vehicle has 4yr/50,000 from the first in service date. What they are offering starts at the end of that. So 6 years from in service date?
What is the "xx" miles, is it to 100,000 like CPO Audi's? Is this a real Audi CPO coverage? If so, I think it would be a great idea if you are going to keep this car for a while. From the Audi site, except for wear and tear, tires, adjustments, Radio/Nav, maintnenance, everything else seems to be covered. $85 deductible for as many things as you can get them to cover on one visit.

If they are offering $800, offer back $650? I say, negotiate and go for it.

Hey, thanks for that. The main reason I passed on it before was that I was told it wasn't valid in Canada. Under the terms and agreements it says it is. I'll clarify all that before buying it.
I'm usually against these things but the older i get, piece of mind is worth something to me. I wouldn't have to worry at all about potential major repairs and not have to have back up cash around for such a thing.
May I ask another question? I know this is dumb, but this is my first car and I want to keep it as new looking as possible. Is there a thread about basic car maintenance - I've never even had leather seats before and have no idea how to care for them properly.
Thanks for being so helpful.
