I'm pretty happy with my '08 DSG. The only reason I didn't get the MT is because I blew my knee out and had surgery on it and didn't want to risk not being able to drive if I did it again. Coincidentally, that is exactly what happened in December: I blew my left knee out again. I injure myself too much to drive an MT. God damn bmx

Default 2008 A3 experience

We love our A3. Have about 9K miles on it. Drove it to Texas recently, 867 miles in 12.5 hours and 27 to 28 mpg. Seats are great and power is always there when you need it. The only problem so far is with launching from stop when the drivetrain is fully warmed up. See my post today "08 A3 DSG launch problem."

Just bought an A3 2.0T FSI DSG. Fantastic car (after waiting 13y of driving a '96 Corolla 1.8). The Audi is enchanting - I actually feel refreshed after a long trip, and didn't think such cars existed...

I have a 2007 A3 2.0 with Premium Pkg. I bought it brand new in Oct of 2006.
I now have a bit over 43,000 miles on it. And I have to say, it's running like a champ.

The issues I have had over the few years I had it for:
1. Fuel Sensor had to be replaced the first year.
2. Pirelli P6 All-Season tires wore out VERY, VERY quickly.
3. Passenger seat leather constantly cracks/tears/rips.
4. And last but definetly not LEAST, the constant oil burning and having to check it every 1000 miles or so.

So, I have replaced all 4 of the Pirelli tires with Continental ContiExtreme tires.
I keep a couple quarts of synthetic oil in my car for backup.

The leather tearing issue I had replaced under warranty by the dealer once, but now its happening again, so I have to just deal with that I guess. And the fuel sensor issue was totally covered under warranty.

So, besides replacing the tires, I have yet to drop any money from my pocket on the few issues with my vehicle.

All in all, I love the handling and ride of it, still after over 2 years of having the vehicle.
I love the fact that I do not see many A3's on the road still, which is great because its not a sell-out car, which is a good thing for me, so I wont ever get sick of the car, and I am always in AWE when I see one of the road.

Any other 07's out there share your experiences! Or any other A3's in general!

Ask your wife/gf to lose some weight, that might help .....Just kidding!

Good to see people having good ownership experience with the A3
