A3 TDI Shipping Weight
I have an unusual question for anyone who may have taken delivery of a TDI recently.
DC tax code for new vehicle purchases is structured so that cars with a gross shipping weight of 3,499lbs or less only pay 6% while cars above that pay 7% or 8%.
The Audi webpage lists the curb weight of the A3 TDI as 3,318.
That's cutting it pretty close and I was wondering if anyone has their Bill of Lading (or equivalent document) that says what the shipping weight was.
Its a matter of a few hundred dollars so I want to make sure I get accurate info.
I purchased a BMW 135 a few years back and the dealer incorrectly (on purpose?) applied the higher tax rate on a vehicle that was listed as being shipped below 3,499lbs. I didn't realize it until recently so probably too late to do anything. Just trying to make sure I don't make the same mistake twice.
