sorry to hear about your A3 baby........ glad you're not too badly beaten up....... but like everyone said, now you have better/faster cars to lookforward to....... um..... S5? RS4?.........R8?

if you're planning on selling your A3........ can you sell me your downpipe?

well, at least you're all insured so most expences are paid for.

Thanks for the vultureous support Nam. IF, and I don't think they will, total the car, then I'll trade out the stock components on the vehicle for the modified ones. I'm good friends with the shop and they'll work with me, go figure? Problem is that I would purchase the same car again at this point, so I'd just be swapping out parts on the new one. Sorry. No R8's, S5's, or RS4's in this kids future. First off, I don't have that kind of money to spend on a car, and I need something that I can fit my WHOLE family in at the same time. It's nice to dream, but...

I'm heading to the shop at 8 this morning to talk with them and look the car over better. Maybe I'll snap a couple more pics from underneath?

Cheers!

Ugh.Ugh Ugh. I feel for ya, mang. Doesn't look too terribly beat up cosmetically, so for your sake I'm hoping the frame is REALLY bent so you can have it totalled.Glad you and kid weren't hurt, and I hope the guy who caused it gets raped by his insurance company. Sometimes collisions are unavoidable, but to rearend someone is inexcusable in my book.

This is the EXACT situation that brought me to A3 ownership...my WRX was wrecked, though no frame damage and cheap to fix. It was never the same again. Steering loosened up, panels didn't fit togetheras welland the rattling and buzzing inside increased x10. I'm lucky that nobody was hurt and Ihad already been eyeing the A3 and looking for an excuse to get one.

That sucks bro, I wish it was just another April fool's joke.

Just a week ago, you were flying by me at 150 andwhat a memory it was. Hopefully, you'll get your car at where it was again or maybe get the 07's(maybe the quattro).

I feel ya in a way. I got mine rear ended the the first 6 weeks I got it, just a very minor dent from the screws of the license plate and got 900 from their insurance co.

Chef,

Sorry to hear about and see the results of the accident. Twice in a couple of months, OUCH!! I agree with you that a repaired vehicle never feels the same, even if it is. If there is a bright side, there could be a '08/'09 A3 or abeautiful A5 (my vote) in the driveway relatively soon. Put the screws to the insurance companies as they will try to do it to you. If the frame is bent, it is totaled.

Glad no one got hurt. Best of luck!!

To add comedy to misery:

I was hit in my van at the beginning of March and just got it back last Wednesday, which is two days prior to the Audi's wreck. But, the automatic functions of the tailgate weren't working and I brought it back to the body shop this morning. Now I'm back in another rental car, but good news is that the shop called 45 minutes ago and it was fixed and ready to go. Woohoo!!! Then, about 10 minutes ago, the shop calls again to tell me on the way to get it detailed that someone backed into it and damaged the bumper again![:@] Now a couple more days in my sh[tty Dodge Neon.

Can you believe my luck???

WTF???

Hi Chef-

If you must be trapped in a crappy rental car due to circumstances beyond your control, you might as well go and visit friends who are 1000 miles away and keep the mileage on a car that isn't yours.
