Is there a common fault with the ashtrays on these cars? mine is a 1998 1.8t sport and the ashtray doesnt latch shut for some reason so is permantly open I was just wondering if there was a known fix for this as i have taken it apart and cant see anything obviously broken etc.

I suppose you smoke? If not, I'd recomend you replace it with the storage bin.
