AUDI A3 2006 P0445 code
Hi,
I have Audi A3 2006 and the engine light came on, I took it to ORIELYS and they said the code is P0445.
I replaced the gas tank cap and still the engine light is on.
PLease can you help me diagnose this problem or do I need to take it to a mechanic.
Also the AC is not cooling the car it takes time to cool, do I need to refill the Freon.
How difficult is that to do??
Regards,
Kam Darbar

I would replace the Purge Valve next. It is a common fail point to trigger these kind of codes. Luckily this is not a very expensive part and easily replaceable without visiting a shop.

In regards to the AC - get ready to replace the whole darn thing. I had similar issues like you first, filled up freon but there wasn't really anything missing. Replaced the high/low pressure switch and though it was a little better but still not great. Next thing I tried was to purge the system and get fresh stuff in there - that's when it locked up and died completely. After that you have to replace the compressor, drier and expansion valve.
RockAuto.com has great prices on those kits. I only paid 300 bucks + shipping to get the entire system replaced/fixed.
