Default 2006 Audi A6 3.0L has one code

Hi everyone, I'm a dealer in Syracuse, NY specializing in Audis, typically reselling them. I got an 03 a6 in this week and it's got code p0600. The car has check engine light on, abs and esp light on and tiptronic wont work, also when you turn the key to start the car, it says please press clutch to start, but the vehicle is an automatic and i checked with the Audi dealer to make sure the cluster was for an automatic and they confirmed it is an automatic. the code P0600 is serial link error code. Anybody who had this issue please reply, I searched around the net and haven't found anything regarding this problem.

Have you confirmed that the ECU is from a tip car? I don't see how it'd run unless it was but that's a really strange code and symptom to see. It's possible you have an issue with the TCU though - the P0600 could mean an issue communicating with the TCU. It would also explain the lack of tip function and possibly the ESP issue. Check the TCU for signs of water intrusion or wiring harness corrosion - they're susceptible under the carpet.

good news, issue is fixed, one of my guys found the box where the transmission computer is, and it was completely soaked in water, new module took care of the issue.
