audi a3 battery drain problem
Hi,
The battery on my 2005 Audi A3 keeps going flat and the control panel (The bit that tells me the Average MPG, miles left in fuel tank etc) keeps going off and then comes on sporadically. The battery goes dead within a matter of days and I have resorted to disconnecting the battery now between using it. Can anyone help me?

Audi A3 Battery Drain
Hi, Thanks for reply. I thought this at first but put a multimeter between the positive on the battery and the positive connection and left it for a full day. It was only using 0.03Amp, which is a trickle charge to the alarm. When I open the doors and the internal lights it jumps up to 4+Amps etc... Another member has written to me and had a similar problem and it turned out to be the control panel in the dash, which when replaced solved the problem.
I am awaiting more info back from him but hopefully that will be the solution...although don't know the cost yet??? Any more advice that you can think off before I send it to Audi for what will be an expensive replacement....?

Could be that your main screen that talks with the computer is all screwed up and needs replacement. That would require a look into the computer and either taking it to the dealer or a local shop to have it plugged in and looked at. Thats the only other thing I can think of. Good luck
