Hello, I'm looking to buy an Audi A3. It's a little out of my price range but then again, they're awesome .

Unfortunately I'm going to have to buy a used one. One I'm looking at is 2007 with about 75000K on it. Is it possible to buy it private sale and get the extended warranty (up to 6 years, 100K) or is that just for certified ones?

It's really just an insurance policy, so ask the dealer what they would sell you. btw mine has 40,000 miles and they want $3000+ to extend the warranty.

 

Wow, that's expensive! Are you planning on getting it? 3K can pay for a fair number of repairs.

 

No I'm not getting it. I agree that I can get a lot of repairs done for that kind of money.

 

Those warranty are usually for catastrophic repairs like blown DSG, camshaft, head gasket, etc, which each would cost way more than $3k
