Exclamation AUDI A3 TDI Power loss problem

I own A 2006 2.0 TDI S line DSG. Its done about 35000 miles. If i am driving on the motorway at about 80 its fine, but when I put my foot down and the pressure builds up in the turbo the car dies. It goes into a safe mode and there is no power at all. When i turn he car off and then on it goes back to normal. Standing still and revving the car it sounds to me like there could be an air leak in the system somewhere as it hisses?

Is this a knowproblem or can anyone help?

Air leak indeed. Check back from the turbo outlet, into the bottom of the intercooler. There can sometimes be a split in the rubber hoses between them. Also check the rubber O rings between the pipes. I had a massive split which didnt help the life of my turbo and it finally blew. There is now a good seal and no obvious whosh noise from the spool of the turbo. Good Luck

Thanks for the advice. My mate at VW looked at it and he found that the gasket on the pipe which carries the exhaust emmisions to the engine had gone. He replaced it and the hissing disapeared and "touch wood", the power loss hasnt happened either...........Fingures crossed!!

Ah yes, the metal pipe that connects to the EGR valve just before the inlet manifold. Forgot to mention that one, sorry about that. Good luck!
