Brake light problem

Brake light problem
I have one bulb which works for about 10 mins into a journey, then stops working, causing the warning light and audible alarm on the computer to come on. Have tried changing the bulb and same problem occurs. Changed the fuse, doesn't help. Each journey same thing. Annoying thing is that sometimes the warning light and alarm come on each time I press the brake! You can imagine how frustrating this is...
Any suggestions?
TIA.

RE: Brake light problem
Yep, probably the brake light sensor behind the brake pedal has gone bad. Do a search and you'll find a recent post where I referenced the .pdf on the correct installation. When I get home I'll do a little better search for you if you can't find it.
Cheers!

RE: Brake light problem
I had exactly the same problem, what is happening is the bulb is going out every time you press the brake causing the alarm to go off.
Now i'm from the UK so the color of the wires might be different but here was the problem with mine.
The last poster is correct it is a bad earth connection, remove the light from its house and locate the earth wire. Now this should be making contact with the metal on the outside of the bulb housing what it most likely is, is that the wire has frayed or moved so the connection is bad, remove the bulb and check the connection, if you can solder it is the best way bang a little onto it so it won't move, if not twist the wire so it is secure and place it so that contact is made and maintained this will solve your problem. If you can locate the problem take it to a garage point it out and it should cost pennies to get it fixed.
Hope this helps.
