Default bulbs

I've had two front parking lights go out on me within a couple of months. I thought it would be under warranty, but I'm at 20,000 miles, and the dealer says it 12k or 1 year and under for it to be covered. Is this a common thing with the A3 that you're all also dealing with? It's $1.50 for the bulb and $48 for labor to have to changed, and I'd love to do this myself if someone told me how simple it was...

If it's for any of the rear lights - it is easy. I've replaced a brake-light already and was amazed at how simple it was. The procedure for getting the assembly off is in the manual and there is a tool with all the tire change stuff. It's not worth $48 dollars.

You talking about the side marker bulbs? Or the ones in the headlight housing?

If he means the parking light, that is the orange thing in the bumper. That is according to the A3's instrument panel display. You can use VAGCOM to get more infor, i.e., front or back.

KB, I tried to do it your way (press on bumper and the pry it off), but didn't have your skills, and had to use a flat head screwdriver to help. The passenger side was easy but I bent the cllip on the driver side; luckily, I bent back, and it snapped into place just fine.

spaceman3. If it is the orange bumper lights like suggested...here's a video I made of how to remove it. http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...t=3481dfe1.flv The bulb is removed from the socket by pulling it straight out. If not, slight twist and pull.

rollyfoster...which bulb? The center or one of the tail light bulbs? Yes, you can do it yourself. For outer lens: http://oooo-a3.blogspot.com/2006/08/...mber-turn.html

That seems very easy. Are we talking about the same bulb? In the attached pic, it's the orange light on my 2007 A3.

KrazyBoi, where were you these 4 months! I just took the bulb out according to your 9s video. It took me 4 months to figure it out!
