Buying Advice
Hi Guys
My son has just passed is test an is looking for an A3 as his first car.
He has about £2k to spend so is looking at cars built around 1999 and 2000. 1.6 Petrol
Is there anything special I should be looking out for when looking at this age of car, any known faults ect.
Thanks
Paul

A3
Hey there,
I've got a 00 A3 for the last 2 years, check the brake light switch, that's a common thing to go, also check the seal on the oil filler cap, if its worn you may see a mayonaisse colour under there, just be aware that if its not worn then it could be the head gasket on the way out!
Those are the only things to have given me any trouble, oh and mine didn't come with speakers in rear doors, not sure if this is standard or not though!
Its very reliable and a good choice as a 1st car! If you need to know anything else about them just ask, I'm always changing something on it
