Hi everyone. Looking for a little advice with the following problem.

Car is a A3 Sback 2.0 TDI s line s tron.

When driving in automatic mode the car stutters badly under medium to hard acceleration, so much so that I have to manually change up a gear or the car just stutters and goes no where. Some times it seems the fault is clearing a little and then it goes back to the usual stutter stutter.....

Being extremely smooth on the throttle helps cut back on the stuttering.

No warning lights etc are coming on at the dash at any point.
