hi guys new to the audi just bought a cheap a3 1.6 se 1998. and central locking doesnt work the key just opens the drivers door no other signs of boot or passenger door. if this helps the lock button on drivers side door panel doesnt work either.any help is greatly appreciated thanks. ps when i went to boot to lock it the interior lights flashed on for a split second.

 

i helped a guy a few weeks ago with the same problem, from what you described its the same that happened to me, wen u open the driver door with the key ( which was the only way i could get in) the central locking pump comes on for bout 10 seconds. its the carbon discs inside that break, go on ebay and search central locking repair kit, its cost £35 and has pictures to fit, its really easy and you dont have to change the pump
