changing the stereo in 2007 a3
Hi all
i have just changed the stereo in my 2007 a3 and put in a kenwood double din.
I got the twin fakra aerial connector plugged it in and it fitted fine, one problem is that i have no radio reception.
This adaptor is meant to be an aerial turn on cap to tell the factory aerial to turn on, unfortunately this does not work. I believe the aerial is turned on by can bus.
is this true and does anyone know how to cure it?
Thanks Paul

Actually, had the system installed by one of the top installers in the U.S, but there is something quirky with the antenna. He did an amazing job and the sound quality and performance are amazing when I listen to CD/DVD/iPod. Unfortunately, I couldn't leave the car with him longer since I was moving to San Francisco from L.A..
My system is featured in this article (the dark grey A3, not the white one) :

I spoke to an electronics engineer at Audi and he had heard of an issue with the '07 and was going to check into it for me. Haven't heard anything yet.

radio reception
The aerial on the new audis runs on 150 ohms and therefore all current aerial adapters don't run on this ohm-age.
Dietz have now made an adapter to suit this new type of aerial, the dietz part no is 8553 which goes to the new little fakra plug for the car. this needs the usual remote lead and has the blue wire coming out of the aerial adapter.
happy listening
