today,i was leaving work from La Jolla, CA (San Diego) pulled up behind an A3, it was in front at the white line, i looked at the car, no emblems, which means he's gotta be chipped. light turns green, he guns it hard, seeing this, i gun it too, trying to see who's driving (it's 11:30 pm by the way), we go up this hill towards the freeway, i go to the left lane, he's on the right, knowing i'm chipped and pulling as hard as i am, i'm inching up to him, (i think the guy was driving at the wrong gear) we're going about 110 uphill, bout 1/8 mile away the rd splits, sign says turn at 45 mph for the turn, i'm still going 110+, its now down to who has more guts, i found out i'm the crazy one here, he backs off hard, i turn on my interior lights and wave thumbs up at him, then i hit the brakes hard, i went through that turn at 90 mph, SH*t man, my A3 really grips that tight corner like crazy.

well, that's my entertainment for the night, got ne stories out there.

 

Sounds like our GTG in a couple weeks is going to be real fun!

I have lived and worked in SD in the past, and been to La Jolla quite a few times. If the hill you are talking about is the one I am thinking of:

1. Yes you are crazy, but

2. You have given me more confidence in my A3

How's your suspension (incl. tires) set up?

 

yeah, it's the last light going towards the 52 on torrey pines rd. i just have the stock pirelli's and the sport suspension. just don't hit a wet spot on that turn, you'll end up 40 feet below on the I-5

Everytime I come close to seeing another A3 is usually in packed traffic where its impossible to burn some rubber. There are also two A3's in my office parking garage that I'm waiting to have an encounter with. Maybe if I switch back to stock they'll come out and play?
