Concert to RNS-E connector pin question
Getting ready to do the RNS-E conversion in my wifes 2012 A3. I have done my reasearch, but I have 2 questions still. The first is when removing the AUX input wires from the quad lock connector. Do I need a pin puller to get the wires out that I need to transfer to the other connector for the AUX input to work? Or can they be removed with a pick or something thin and sharp.
Second question is the navigation disk. Can I just order the latest disk from audi as it seems navteq does not sell them anymore? Also is there only one disk required? If I go buy the 2013 update disk is that the only one I need or do I need like a base disk to start with just to run the update CD. The local audi dealership seems to be not too helpful as they told me the RNS-E will never work in my car if it did not come with it. Then the guy told me he could not help me with the disk unless I had my VIN. In which I told him my VIN will show a car with no navigation. I think I found the latest version, but still not sure if that is all I need.
Thanks in advance.
Also forgot to mention this is the RNS-E gen 2 with the chrome *****.
