Customer order questions
Hi... me new here and need help
I had been wanting to get an A3 3.2 S-line for the past year. Shopped around for the past 6 months, going in and out of dealership and find nothing that I want [:@], so I convinced my husband we "need" to custom order!
Can I order something that is not in the regular option list? Like heated seat only but not the cold weather package?
I also saw that Audi offer parking sensor for UK but not for the US. Can I order that for my US car?
Thanks!
Cindy

RE: Customer order questions
Wish I could help with the options you have listed, but I know you can order any audi color for $2500. You would think other options would be available, but at a premium. I wish I would have special ordered fog lights, didn't think about it until after I bought my car. I ask in the other forums. good luck

And its a good thing they dont come to the US yet. But I think there trying to get it here in late 2007 sometime.
As much as I want to see the AWESOME "S3" here. I think the US needs to wise up a bit with the choice of cars and what there putting out there for buyers, before something like the S3 comes here.

IMHO I don't think Audi USA sells enough A3's to offer the S3, which is only a 2 door I believe. I hope in the future Audi starts to really push the A3 in the USA, but right now their attention is on the A4 it seems. I personally would like to see a A3 sportback with S3 2.0T engine with Quattro. I think that package would sell well here in the USA!

Yes, S3 = 2 door. Can't do that, must have 4 doors. As for 2.0T... I need more power, the 3.2L is a must have, so I can out run my husband's 330i [8D]
We are going in to the dealership this weekend to talk about customer ordering thing. I will update my findings if any one is interested.

chip = Emission increase (sorry, I am a fake tree hugger)
The real reason is
Quattro... must have because we are replacing the 4x4 of the house with this cute little A3.

And you think a turbo is going to cause more pollution then a V6....right!
Now the 4X4 reason makes sense!

RE: Customer order questions
Kudos to you for worrying about emissions. I've often wondered if you could 'chip it backwards', meaning to get the most efficient MPG possible out of this engine.
I don't think you will be able to get the heated seats without other options, but that might be silly since it's only a $700 option and the other things that come with it would be needed in the cold weather too, especially if you are getting this for four-wheel drive.
I had heard of the $2500 paint option. The only other trick I know is that you can order the factory roof rails for $500. If you are replacing a truck/suv this could be a good option for you.
Happy shopping this weekend! Are you by chance a tree-hugger on the West Coast by the Redwoods?
