Default Discovering A3's personality...

Week 3 of ownership, and thankfully the initial quality issues discussed so many times here have not reared their ugly heads (Open Sky vibration, wind noise, poor mileage, broken sun shade, dipped headlight). I can only knock on wood that this car stays free of mechanical gremlins and cabin rattles.

I have noticed little things that are different from my past cars though:
1) something in the dash always makes one single loud clicking noise around 30 seconds after starting...presumably it's some sort of automatic switch.
2) the headlights 'look around' when they first come on...which is awesome.
3) there's an intermittentand very brief vibration near the rear view mirrors right when I close the front doors...maybe some wiring shifted and is touching the sheet metal or something.
4) DSG sport mode makes for long, lurching downshifts when stopping.
5) had to hit brakes twice consecutively to enable uphill assist...had I not read about that here, I would have rolled backwards right into someone already.

The only thing I hate is that other Audi drivers around here don't wave back...snobs...haha.

Perhaps they are too busy trying to use their Nav systems! Worst, trying to decide what track/song to play on their Ipod's!

I used to sometimes wave to other Jeeps when I owned a Jeep, but never heard of other Audi's waving to each other. I like the Xenon positioning as well, it is quite cool when you start up the car to see them move up & down!

I've actually seen a few A3s in passing on my work commute...those are the ones who don't wave. There are two lava gray2.0s in the general area.

I never get waves from other A3 owners. Just a smile and admiration that another fool just like them bought one.

On a separate note, I used to wave to other xterra's in my brief moment of ownership. Also, just this past week I was following a honda element on a a rural highway at noticed how he passed 3 other elements, all of which waved to eachother... kinda fruity [:'(]
