Does the last letter of part number matter? (CAN Gateway)

Hi all,

I am having porblems with the instrument cluster not waking up when I unlock my car. Which means when i start the car it cuts out because the immobilizer isn't being disabled.

I have just been reading through an A3 electical guide and it shows that the CAN Gateway (J533) is what wakes the instrument cluster up when the car is unlocked.

So i am looking for a replacement for part number:

But cannot find one that ends with S. Does this matter???

I have a strange feeling this part has been swapped when it was in a garage. Ignoring my first post can anyone find the part number of the CAN-Gateway that should be on my car.

That is the correct # for your vehicle by the VIN. It has superceded a bunch of times though, since that # was introduced. The newest, latest and greatest part # is 7N0-907-5300-AF-Z00. Hope that helps!
