ECU question for mod n00b
I have impeccable timing. In November I see there is a software update for the 3.2 by GIAC. So I call the local GIAC to get info and they advise waiting for AWE's intake for the engine. Sounds great. So I do.Last week, I see it's available, so I call the local tuner back to find out they no longer flash GIAC. Yay. Plus they are/were the ONLY GIAC dealer in the whole state!
So, they offer to have my ECU sent in for flashing, they said it's around a 3-day process. But now I'll have to remove and reinstall the ECU. Is it that simple? Are there any processes beforeor after the fact, other than taking it out and putting back in again?

I haven't taken the ECU out of this car, but I did on my previous one. It is simply a disconnect/reconnect type of operation. I wouldn't worry about it that much.
Cheers!
Cheers!
not sure if it's the same as on an a4 but I know on mined its really easy... just make sure you wrap it REALLY good when you ship. Don't want anything stupid to happen to something so important. check DIY, I know there is something that might help...
