My A3 1.9TDI 110HP has the common problem with the glow plugs.
Reading the forums someone suggested to change the glow plugs relay.

How can I find which one it is (some one said it is 109 and 103??) and more important ... is there a way to test if it is broken or not ?

# if the glow plug light goes off the relay is ok so it might be the glow plugs and not expensive to replace

I had a similar problem on my TDI and it was the harness. Check out the link for exceptionally good reading on the subject. It's on a 90hp 1.9L, but parts are mostly the same between the two.

Imagen a chiped 2.0 TDI think about the torque numbers. (example- chiped jetta TDI 1.9 is 150hp 245lbs) Now do that in a A3 with the new 2.0TDI we all would get our ***' handed to us and still stop at the pump first. Can't wait tell the US OIL A$$holes pull there heads out and let us get these increadible engines in the states. like the 1.4supercharged turbo

 

I would LOVE to have the 3.0 TDI in my A3. Imagine how that torque monster would run!?!
