Grom Problem with Concert II+

Grom Problem with Concert II+
I recently bought a 2008 A3 and figured I'd add a Grom unit with iPhone cable and Bluetooth dongle. I also bought an AUDS cable, but that wasn't necessary for the Concert II+ (Double DIN with 6 buttons).
Install went great, and now I have an iPhone cable resting in the passenger netting, and a Bluetooth mic on the other side. It's easy to play music and I can talk via the mic, but my steering wheel controls don't work with the BT phone portion only. They're fine with track selection and volume. I'm using an iPhone 4.
I'll write Grom, but has anyone had and resolved this problem? Thanks!
