Default Haldex V Quattro

Can you really feel the difference of Haldex in the A3? I was supposed to test drive an A3 today, but then the dealer said they did not have a 3.2 S Quattro, after they said they did[:@]. One of the reasons why I would get an A3 is due to the awesome feeling of Quattro. But maybe not if Haldex is noticably different than Quattro. Can people really feel the difference of Haldex?

yes, the haldex is a bit different...however, like i said earlier it's still quite good. It's not quite as predictable as the true quattro system, but i live in seattle where it's really hilly and rains all the time and I have the same exactnumber of spinouts with my a3 that i had with my a4, and that number is zero. Alot of quattro owners bad mouth the haldex quite a bit, but really, it's a very good system. It does feel a little bit different driving...but not bad different, just different.

Thanks again cshecks. I guess I will just have to wait to see for myself during the test drive!Just wondering if it feels like driving a front wheel drive.
