Default Should I be able to “hear” Quattro/Haldex?

I have an odd grinding noise while driving in 1’st and 2nd gear. It only happens when I’m giving it enough gas to where the tires may slip a little, not smashing the pedal down though. Granted, I just got this car and it really needs tires BAD but this noise is a little unsettling.

I feel like it might be the “Haldex” unit but I really have no clue…

Any help would be appreciated (as always)

awesome pics man... things make a lot more sence... I guess i'm going to need to get it in to get it looked at...

The only question now, have the dealer check it or the VW guy around the corner? I think i'm gonna have Audi take a look but I'm not gonna have them do the work...

I know man!

I just meant by "VW GUY" that he's just a guy with a shop, not a dealer... He already said he'd work on my TT...

However, since my last post I talked to a mechanic friend of mine who is the manager at the local "Honda" Dealer which is at the same location as the Local Audi dealer (same owner) - I'm going to drop my car off there after work and they are gonna keep it for a day or two and figure out as much as they can about it... I think they might even be able to "run next-door"(audi) and get some stuff or info if they need it....

Audi wants $150 for their "used car inspection"... sound like a waste of $$$????

I know what you mean I served my time with jaguar but started my own business and work on all cars "a good tech is their versatility" not the company name or badge

good point....

That's why i'm gonna drop it off at the Honda dealer tonight... it probably won't cost me anything and I know this guy is a good tech... and if he doesn't know something, he won't hesitate to just admit it and aquire the information/parts he needs...
