Default Has anyone ever replaced oil dipstick tube? 2002 w/1.8T

Pending getting my household goods with my tools I let a local gas station change the oil on this 2002 I just bought and they broke the oil dipstick tube. I am only find out weeks later when checking the oil so not going to try to make them replace. It seems it is very brittle anyway from age.

Has anyone ever replaced this themselves and is it difficult?

I ordered a Haynes service manual and waiting on it to arrive.

The trouble is trying to find the correct dipstick tube since this is not a US model and trying to use Golf or Jetta 1.8T for application for part number.

Thanks!

Broke on my 1.6 model and am trying to find replacement. At the bottom of the tube on mine anyways it was totally brittle and basically just crumbled to pieces when gettin it off.. It looks pritty much like a click on job with the new one straight forward enough. Then again its the ones that look straight forward that end up being the worst.

Thanks. Since I posted I found some info from a VW site with instructions and pretty straightforward. I was also able to find this common tube and issue so order the replacement and will be good to do.
