High end audio
Hey guys, its Nima...lost my password so had to register again. But i have a quick question it seems that my audio cant be sold, and i want to keep the stock deck. is there anything i can do that wont pass dirty music to my amps and speakers without changing the deck and keeping it stock? purpose of a deck is to filter music, and since high end audio equipment cannot take abuse what so ever, i dont want to risk it.
There are many different signal processers. Here's one:

Take a look at the diagram here:

It is for a TT, but the head units in the A3 have the same connections. The stock unit has pins for line out signals. Dependent upon your head unit, the harness should already have either rear L/R and sub (Audi Concert) or front and rear L/R and sub (Bose). If you are handy with a soldering iron and don't mind cutting up your stock harness, you could add RCA connectors and then use aftermarket amps and speakers. This would give you the cleanest, best quality signal possible from the stock head unit.
Also, I have been emailing a guy from Metra, a company that makes harnesses for aftermarket head units, about putting something together for the A3. Since the stock harness uses standard Audi/VW connectors, it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something that would provide RCA line outs without cutting anything. I will run it past him and see what he thinks.

The other problem is to get a "pure" signal coming from the deck. The stock unit will cut bass with increased volume and you're best off getting the unmodified signal out to a processor so you can tweak the sound on your own.
Good luck and let us know. This will be a mod coming somewhere down the line for me.
Cheers!
