How fast is an upgraded A3 really?
I bought the Toyo Proxes T1-R's. They are a great improvement over the Pirellis so far, but I only have about 3k miles on them. Hopefully they continue to perform, quietly.
Cheers!

Hey Olivier...let us know what the dealer says. I think we all can relate to the torture of being gentle for the first 1K. I too was very excited when I got my A3 2.0T 6MT. I took it past "recommended break in thresholds" 4 or 5 times. I have been pretty consistent in staying within the guidelines for the most part since then. From what I have read in this forum, the engine seems pretty solid and should be able to take some abuse...but then again...we probably all know about gremlins and "murphy's law."

I really wanted to lie, especially to my boss when I told him I had to go to the dealership but in the end, it really serves no purpose… So, I just did not close all the way the gas cap… I felt like people should take away my keys and trade my car for a tricycle with a helmet, knee and elbow pads…
It is humiliating, especially when you enterthe service department kinda p!ssed and the guy looks at you with a grin on his face with a "I have it figured out already" just by looking at you. Popped the hood (or whatever you call it) for the gas and looks at me with the cap barely on. I though I was3 again with diapers on... I did not know if I should take a detour to get to work so nobody could see me with the shame or go on the road and take on anyway to prove I am a man...I did neither, found a bridge with no traffic, took the car to 110 at the end of the fourth gear, the windows down so I could hear the hiss form the turbo and felt a lot better! Until I saw the mileage I was getting of course...

Hahahahaha! Well put
I bet you will never make that mistake again in your lifetime.

To make me feel even better, a friend of mine asked me if I drove the station wagon in the parking lot upfront... No need to mention that he is no longer my friend but man, I felt like 10 years were added to my age in one instant... I feel old now.
I am going for a ride and look for a teen driving GTI to munch on... (well, at least I hope!) I need to upgrade my car so even though they may call it a station wagon, they will eat my dust... Beaten by a station wagon, that will teach them! Vengeance is mine!
They wanted to know how fast a mod A3 is, I am going to find out on my own.
