instrument lights stay bright
My dash lights do not dim with the dial. I took it to the dealer, Champion in Coral Springs, FL. They say they checked it out and it is caused by the AWE boost gauge I installed, they admit the gauge is wired correctly, and can not explain why it took more than 2 years to cause this problem. I am not an engineer, but I am an aircraft mechanic who has done many minor mods to aircraft wireing per engineering specs. I can not accept that adding one lamp to the lighting system has caused the module to fail. Have any other AWE owners had this problem?

The dealers just going to blame any mods so its not their fault. Im sure your installation was fine and I dont know how a boost guage can cause that but the dealers just gonna blame it so they arent responsible in fixing it.

Right, first he said he tried it and it was OK, I told him to try it again, and he agreed it was not dimming. When he saw the boost gauge he said this must be the problem. I said at least check it out and determine the actual problem. I was a little hot by this time, he agreed the tech should check it, but I could tell he had already dismissed my claim.

So they dimmed fine for 2 years, boost gauge added, then issue? Or you had the boost gauge for 2 years and then the issue arised?
I'd say, if its not too hard, to try disconnecting the boost gauge just for good measure. But yea, sounds like BS to me as far as the gauge causing the lights to stay super bright, if anything, don't you think the gauge would "steal" power and make the dash dimmer?!?!
