Default Light weight pulley

Does anyone have this installed, and what's your opinion?

Hey Stryker,

I gave this a lot of consideration and was about to buy it a couple times. I talked with my race car friend and he persuaded me that it would be a bad idea. It will give you a little more horsepower, but at what price? You are spinning less coolant around the engine, underpowering the alternator and the all electrical items to include the coil packs. I'm not convinced that the 5hp is worth the long term trade off. But that's just me.

Are you just hankering for another mod? Dude, go for the LSD.

I'm definitely getting the Quaiffe, but it's just a matter of time and money. Definitely top on my mod list!

Cheers!

It's beyond my ability. You need to drop the transmission and replace the differential and hardware. It is a good idea to upgrade the clutch at the same time if that is anywhere on your plans. Saves a lot of time and energy since the transmission is already out. The LSD with all of the hardware is a little under $1k, and I was quoted $800 for the install. There is a shop around here that will upgrade my stock clutch and pressure plate for only $150, so that's my plan when I have an extra $2k. Could be a while. I also want the Tien coilover system coming out any day and upgraded brake pads and stainless steel lines. I'm thinking that will be everything I need prior to the big turbo.

Cheers!

You didn't mention wheel upgrade is that in the plans? That will raise the budget quite a bit, depending on the wheel brand. (sorry i brought that up,more mod more money) I just ordered the evom cai heat shield and engine cover.

I want to see, feel, and hear the difference between the carbonio i have now and the evom? Will have that by tue next week will post the thread and let all know the outcome.[8D]

I actually plan on leaving the wheels stock. I upgraded the rubber to Toyo Proxes T1-R and the difference is amazing. I plan on having a sleeper of an A3, kinda. Honesty, I really like the stock sport rims and the only ones I really like better are some BBS rims which are about $700 a rim plus tires. I have too many other things I want to spend that kind of money on first. I guess that I'm more of a performance modder than a cosmetic one.

Cheers!

I always have been a performance guy myself, but when i saw that oetty kit i had to have it. that lsd sounds like a big to do so i'm going to wait and see on that one untill i put too much and make the wheels spin, i'll reconsider.
