Yes.

Some code was thrown which caused the light to come on. First thing I would check is to make sure the gas cap is on tightly. The littlest thing could set it off, but as long as the car is driving fine then you are okay. When the light is blinking, that means you should not operate it anymore until serviced. MIL on needs to be looked at, blinking = BAD.

Cheers!

CEL came on when refilling which will tell the EVAP system there is a problem ( but their isnt ) so the code needs to be removed to reset the system ( VAG ) a worthy investment if your staying with VW/Audi

Has anyone else noticed that the OBD port on the A3 is keyed so that it will not fit a normal scanner? Is this because a normal scanner will not work with the CAN bus, or is it just so you have to take it to the dealer and pay far out the ***? I thought the OBD ports on all cars had to conform to certain specs....

connector hasn't changed its just tighter with the newer cars plus it has and outer plastic shroud to prevent the cable from being moved or accidentally pulled out

After taking another look I see that I was wrong, the connector is just very tight.
