can anyone help me?
My partner recently bought me an '02 a3 - and since buying it we've discovered there's a problem with the turbo - as soon as you get to 80mph the turbo just completely cuts out. It stays cut out until you turn the engine off - soon as you turn the engine back on the turbo is back again...... any ideas????

Does the A3 have a blowoff valve? I had it go bad on a Mustang SVO.

 

what's a blowoff valve? and how would i know if it had one?

 

all turbo based cars have a blowoff valve/diverter valve its purpose is to "blow out/off" the compressed air in the turbo built up inside once you release the power, it does this to prevent the turbo from being under constant pressure and from blowing up i guess lol, you may hear it sometimes when you let off the gas it sounds like air escaping. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDaJDMtca8E
