Peeling steering wheel (has anyone else had this problem)?
#2
I'm sure we all have the same problem after the car reaches a certain age.
My steering wheel on my 11 year old A6 looks even worse than yours. For now I can live with it - just cosmetic.
If it is something that really bugs you I see a few options:
1. Get a new wheel
2. Have a company re-wrap it
3. Try the magic eraser - many times the steering wheel looks worn but it's just a lot of dirt accumulating. There are tons of people with the same problem and once they used the magic eraser it looked like new
4. Order a new cover like from these guys: Wheelskins - The World's Finest Genuine Leather Motoring Accessories, Steering Wheel Covers, Driving Gloves and Shift Boots
5. Try some leather restoration kit and see if that helps.
Personally I would try the Magic eraser first (probably the cheapest).
