Question S3 oil loss problem

Hi

I have a 2003 model S3 and it appears to be using or losing oil. Changed the oil and filter about 2 months ago and oil is already down to min mark. seems to stabilise about there but dont think it should lose that amount of oil that quickly. Engine is not smoky and there are no indications of a leak under the car. Does anyone on here have any ideas about this or experience of the same problem??

oil leaks that arent causing any puddles are usually the result of a leaky valve cover gasket. we didnt get the a/s3 here in the states back then, what motor is it?

it is a 1.8 turbo. is a valve cover gasket the same as a rocker cover gasket? or is it a head gasket?

ok the 1.8's are prone to valve cover gaskets (and cam plugs) leaking (around the same interval as timing belt service, 70-80k miles),mine has been for a year or so but unbelievably slow- i've never noticed any consumption, but there is some residue around the ring.

this is NOT the same as the head gasket, but i do believe it can be referred to as the rocker cover gasket.
