Default slow response "Quattro system"

I was drivingon some small mountain roads the other day and with permission from the lady started pushing it a bit.but to my and her surprise when accelerating out off hair pin's the inner front wheel would, for quit a moment, lose its grip before the traction was transferred to the other wheels.all this without the electronics(esp)lighting up. is this normal??I had a Opel Calibra Turbo 4x4 witch never had these kind of problems why??

Any picsof your car? Thats a nice color. The A3 uses Haldex which is differnt than the Torsen Quattro system. Haldex drives the front wheels under normal circumstances and is more "reactive" to the back wheels when slipping. Opposed to Quattro where there is more proactivity and there is closer to a 50 50 set up. It is possible that this is what you were experiencing. were they dry roads/wet roads?

It's a control unit that you purchase which will increase the torque transferred to the back and quicker.
