Default Slow excellerator response.

Hopeing someone will have an idea where to start. Have a 02 1.8t tiptronic. The response when i push the excellerator pedal is slow. Seems to run fine but excellerating from a stop there is a slight pause, hesitation even seems like theres nothing there some times. Transmission seems to go right 3rd or 4th gear in three seconds off the line. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

MIKE

to me that sounds like the whole normal "drive-by-wire" effect. Which the throttle is ran though the computer rather than a cable. That's my opinion though, there are addons you can get to help fix that just search for it.

I agree, my '03 A4 Avant with the 3.0L has that same lag effect. It feels completely different than my 99.5 A4 with the 2.8L.

It's like there's a small "Deadzone" in the throttle when you lightly press it, and all of a sudden you hit the spot where it takes off. Probably working as designed, which takes some getting used to.

Thanks

here is one for instance through ECSTuning Home Page > ES#1896886 Sprint Booster Power Converter - SBBM0002 it plugs in by your throttle pedal. and has few different modes for more aggressive or everday type driving. I havent yet installed it on mine, but i read up on a few people saying how much more of a difference it makes.
